Their set will feature timeless standards from legends like Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and Mongo Santamaria. Ahmed Abdulkarim: Trumpet Dale Alexander: Piano Andrew Schwandt: Tenor Saxophone Adam Nussbaum: Drums Ted Olson: Bass Ahmed Abdulkarim has been performing music his entire life. He began on the piano, and then moved around from the bugle to the trombone before finally settling on the trumpet in 1956. Trumpet jazz is where he truly found his voice. Ahmed studied under Manny Laureano of the Minnesota Symphony and has performed at legendary venues including First Ave, The Dakota, and The Stand in NYC. “With a dynamic blend of individual styles, Ahmed and the Creators lack nothing when it comes to the fullness of sound you might find with a large orchestra and yet retain the personality and intimacy typical of smaller jazz combos.”–Twin Cities Gateway
