Crooners Classics – every Wednesday at 5:30PM we will celebrate the beloved musical treasures of yesterday. Wednesday’s Crooners Classics Classic Vocal Jazz Connie sings selections from her CD “Fever” and long-running show exploring the life and music of Peggy Lee. Connie Evingson – vocals Mary Louise Knutson – piano Steve Pikal – bass Doug Haining – horns CONNIE EVINGSON is known for exploring a wide variety of musical styles. Her recorded catalog of acclaimed CD’s ranging from jazz and Broadway standards to the music of Peggy Lee, Dave Frishberg, the Beatles, bossa nova, gypsy jazz and more reflects an adventurous spirit that knows no boundaries. Connie appears regularly at Crooner’s, the Dakota, the Womans Club and various other Twin Cities venues. She has been a featured guest artist with Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion, Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis, Michael Feinstein and Vince Giordano, the Minnesota Orchestra conducted by Doc Severinsen, Philip Brunelle’s Vocalessence, the JazzMN Orchestra and has toured worldwide with appearances at concert halls and theaters across the U.S., Europe and Japan. Her CD’s have all charted in the Top 50 Jazz releases in the U.S. and Canada, and can be heard on radio stations and streaming platforms worldwide as well as numerous CD compilations.
