On 6, 8, 12-string classical guitars, Ben’s playing invokes idols like Paco de Lucía, Ralph Towner, and Sylvain Luc. Ben Abrahamson: Nylon-String Guitar Tim Sparks: Archtop Guitar Ben Abrahamson has performed with flamenco artists Susana di Palma of Zorongo Flamenco and La Conja, Gospel vocalists Tonia Hughes Kendrick and Billy Steele, and acoustic guitarists Tim Sparks, Dan Schwartz, Sam Breckenridge, and Ryan Picone. He is a faculty member at MacPhail Center for Music. Tim Sparks has been redefining the acoustic guitar repertoire since he won the National Fingerpicking Championship in 1993 with a ground-breaking arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite.
