With Dan Chouinard at the piano, Graydon Peterson on bass, and Joe Pulice on drums, expect a joyful evening of music-making and tune up your pipes as we sing our way down the yellow brick road. Prudence Johnson: Vocals Bradley Greenwald: Vocals, Horn Dan Chouinard: Piano Joe Pulice: Drums Graydon Peterson: Bass Individually, Prudence Johnson, Bradley Greenwald and Dan Chouinard have appeared on just about every stage in town but they’ve created a number of works together as well, several performed on Crooners stages: Dear Lenny honors the life and work of Leonard Bernstein; 66: Talkin Bout My Generation is a rollicking trip through the news and music of 1966; From Paris to Rome and Bastille My Heart feature romantic favorites from France and Italy. For Open Eye Theatre, they also created When the Shark Bites, about the iconic partnership of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht, and a musical biography of Jacques Brel. They appear each Valentine’s Day with story teller Kevin Kling in The Love Show. “With.. Greenwald and Johnson we are talking about… superb vocalists who not only sing with beautifully lush voices, but create a whole character in every song”. Arthur Dorman—Talkin Broadway “(Johnson’s) lush, precise, expressive voice, with its pearls of vibrato, is best unadorned. A smart, sensitive pianist – like Chouinard– is all she needs.”—Pamela Espeland, MinnPost

The Customers w. Edith Head, Modern Wildlife at White Squirrel

The Customers: The Customers are a Minneapolis rock and roll band formed in the mid ‘90s. After signing with Neil Young’s Vapor Records the band toured with Ben Folds Five, The Meices, played festivals in Europe featuring Young and Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Foo Fighters; opened shows for Bad Religion, Soul Asylum, and supported Iggy Pop on several West Coast dates. Television appearances include ABC in Concert and The Conan O’Brien Show. The band is currently in the studio recording the EP “LIVING LIKE GODS,” a follow up to the 2023  Kevin Bowe-produced LP, “SWEET FATALITY.” Edith Head: Edith Head is a three-piece rock band out of Minneapolis. Paul (of Twin Cities bands Chooglin’ and Flink) is on guitar and vocals. Aaron (of Twin Cities bands Narco States, Sabbatage, and Erik’s Iridescent Tent) is on bass and provides comic relief. Kim (of Twin Cities band the Black Widows) is on drums and vocals. Though each of us grew up in a different part of the country, fate and our shared love of the Velvet Underground brought us together in 2023. We’ve been creating, playing, and laughing ever since. Modern Wildlife: Modern Wildlife is a dynamic trio from Minneapolis whose songs trek landscapes from the frenetic rhythms of paranoid garage rock to ethereal eulogies that resonate with the wild spirit of the unknown.
