Hybrid Guitar Inventions at Crooners
August 23 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Jazz Fusion/Instrumental
The Matt McIntyre Trio performs a wide range of original compositions, featuring the hybrid guitar/bass popularized by Charlie Hunter. The trio performs original music centered around time and manipulating meter, while using simultaneous bass grooves with guitar rhythms and leads. The tunes range from a Brazilian waltz where the drums evolve from 4/4 to 3/4 to 6/8 and weave in between an ostinato to funk jazz tunes with metric modulations to sparse ballads.
