It Takes Two, Baby! with Ginger Commodore
September 5 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Oldies, Jazz, Rock n’ Roll, Soul
Ginger Commodore brings, “It Takes 2, Baby!” as the second installment in a four-part music series. The first show featured iconic solos, while this one focuses on famous duos and duets from the 1950s to the present day. The expressions of tandem melodies, complex harmonies, and the romantic ballad are all explored. Ginger will be one half of the vocal pairings and will be joined by special guests for duets, instrumental couplings, and songs from famous songwriting duos. Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston once sang: “It Takes Two.” Indeed, the pairing of great talents often leads to truly memorable results. Enjoy songs from Peaches & Herb, Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway, Sam & Dave, and Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong. The evening will also include songs from songwriting teams like Leiber & Stoller, Carole King & Gerry Goffin, Burt Bacharach & Hal David, and Ashford & Simpson.
