Swing Brunch with Patty and the Buttons $6
Swing Brunch with Patty and the Buttons $6
Patty and The Buttons preach the gospel of hot rhythm and happy feet. The band is similar to what you would find in a dance hall, cafe or nightclub anywhere around the world between 1920-1940. Despite being an ensemble firmly rooted in tradition, the band presents their music without being shackled to history. They play their own compositions as well as takes on music of the era. Patty’s eclectic taste gives the band diverse influences including New Orleans Traditional Jazz, Western Swing, Gypsy Melodies, Ragtime Piano Blues, Jug Music and 1930′s Popular Song. The core instrumentation of accordion, clarinet, guitar and bass is light and swift, but also melancholic and lush when it needs to be. Patty, mostly known as an accordionist doubles as the bands vocalist. His voice is inspired most by the old time hollers and croons from the dawn of recording once described as “Tom Waits meets Rudy Vallee.” More than anything, The Buttons is a group that is always enjoying themselves… Which seems to give audiences permission to do the same.

WINGTIPS | Finesse | shadingthesun
WINGTIPS are a Midwest-based electro pop duo consisting of Vincent Segretario and Hannah Avalon. The band’s sonics are best described as an androgynous sound of transition. Interpolating darkly shimmering layers of angular guitar and pulsating darkwave beats, WINGTIPS sharpen their anthemic rush with an increasing penchant for melody and an atmosphere equally informed by post-punk as sweeping electronica.

The Music of Brandi & Joni Feat. Rachel Holder & Friends
Presented by Lori Dokken. Dinner and cocktail seating and service begins 1 hour before showtimes. Folk Americana Acoustic Historical This concert event celebrates the music and friendship of two of the greatest female singer/songwriters of the past 60 years – Brandi Carlile & Joni Mitchell! Rachel Holder: Vocals Judi Vinar: Vocals Benjamin Kelly: Bass Nate Babbs: Drums Lori Dokken: Piano, Vocals It seems to make perfect sense that these two musical meteors have collided and now are sharing the concert stage together. Brandi and Joni both possess an authentic and pure vision in their lyrics and melody that cuts through any false narrative of writing and performing to possess fame. It’s about truth and connection. In an interview with the BBC, Joni Mitchell said: “If you listen to that music and you see me, you’re not getting anything out of it. If you listen to that music and you see yourself, it’ll probably make you cry, and you’ll learn something about yourself and now you’re getting. something out of it.” Rachel Holder is the perfect artist to present some of her (and our) cherished tunes by these two phenomenal female icons of the industry. Rachel possesses the same authenticity in her delivery and with each tune goes to a place where we not only see, but can vividly hear her connection to the deep, personal side of each selection. In each song, Rachel sees herself. www.loridokken.com
