Bury ‘em Deep Bio From the ashes of such bands as Seymore Saves the World, Superdanger, Me and My Arrow, and Beasthead, rises a dark and brooding indie-western soundtrack for your apocalypse. Scott Hefte and the Bury ‘em Deep have combined to create hellish landscapes of a dystopian nightmare while not forgetting the righteous influences of old school country, indie-pop, and noise rock. The resulting sound is one of Johnny Cash, Phil Collins, and Godspeed You Black Emperor, fighting a bloodless three way cage match for superiority. No one wins but you, when you dig the music of Scott Hefte and the Bury ‘em Deep. Linnea Maas Bio: I am a Visual Artist creating across digital & traditional media. My work is all about the sparks of human connection, empathy, & cultivating a voice. My work is brightly colored & bold with characters ranging from clouds, hearts, & birds, to imaginary landscapes and robots who want to know what they’re thinking. My art is made to bypass the brain layers that process language and activate the emotional core, where suddenly we open to connection, dare to be vulnerable, and allow love to ignite the drive to better the world by bettering ourselves. Patty and The Buttons preach the gospel of hot rhythm and happy feet. The band is similar to what you would find in a dance hall, cafe or nightclub anywhere around the world between 1920-1940. Despite being an ensemble firmly rooted in tradition, the band presents their music without being shackled to history. They play their own compositions as well as takes on music of the era. Patty’s eclectic taste gives the band diverse influences including New Orleans Traditional Jazz, Western Swing, Gypsy Melodies, Ragtime Piano Blues, Jug Music and 1930′s Popular Song. The core instrumentation of accordion, clarinet, guitar and bass is light and swift, but also melancholic and lush when it needs to be. Patty, mostly known as an accordionist doubles as the bands vocalist. His voice is inspired most by the old time hollers and croons from the dawn of recording once described as “Tom Waits meets Rudy Vallee.” More than anything, The Buttons is a group that is always enjoying themselves… Which seems to give audiences permission to do the same.

For this special performance, Lori takes center stage on Sunday, November 24th, revisiting where her journey began. Expect a diverse setlist spanning her nearly 45-year career, featuring songs from the ’40s to today. The evening will include hits by artists like Bonnie Raitt, Tracy Chapman, Jim Croce, Dionne Warwick, Rickie Lee Jones, Elton John, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, David Bowie, The Pointer Sisters, and Kenny Loggins … well, you get the idea … with styles ranging from swing to pop, jazz, folk, Broadway, rock, and Americana. Lori Dokken: Vocals, Piano Dave Stanoch: Drums Benjamin Kelly: Bass “Pardon Lori Dokken if she doesn’t act like a star. She sings like one – belting out old favorites in a smoky-velvet voice. She looks like one, too, with tanned sculpted cheekbones and a flashy white smile. But Dokken is pure entertainer, the way entertainers are supposed to be.” — Skyway News, Tricia Booker loridokken.com
