Michael Goldberg (Native Sons, The Found, A Hard Days Night), Mike Fishel (Magic 70s Sunshine Band), Scott Weber (Revlover) and Rick Marquart (Revolver, A Hard Days Night) dig deep to deliver a live performance with character and soul. They share detailed stories of picturesque scenes through great hit songs from the past. Their great, new band is called The Beatnik Brothers and they keep the hits coming from the 50s 60s and 70s!
Michael Goldberg is an unsung hero of the mid-90s Minneapolis music scene. While flying under the radar for years, He has continued to record catchy and inspired alt/pop songs. In the 90s, Mike’s powerful song writing and unique tenor voice hooked the ear of legendary hit maker, Steven Greenberg (Funkytown) who signed him and bass player/singer Michael Waldman to October Records. Together they made a groundbreaking concept album; Native Sons – Lost in Time, produced by the famed John “Strawberry” Fields. (Jonas Brothers, Switchfoot, Miley Cyrus, etc.) Fields just recently said, “Mike has a wonderful pop sensibility and his songs are bursting with blissful melodies. Bravo!”
A while back, Michael set sail with up and coming producer, Jon “Dark Pony” Herchert (Mango Jam, Jonny Lang, Dark Pony). As Jonny was cutting his teeth in his new studio, the two started an experimental project called “Land of Totems”. The album was never released digitally, but Mike hand-made 33 cds and sent them off to Bruce Brodeen, owner of the power pop label, Not Lame Records. At the time, Bruce said “Mike’s songs will make you sit up straight and wonder if your ears are fooling you because the impact is so direct, immediate and in-focus.” All of mike’s cds sold out in one day.
