SUMMARY:Southside Aces Album Release
DESCRIPTION:“flawlessly replicate the sound of classic New Orleans” — Prairie Uprising\n  \nSouthside Aces vinyl release party! \nIt’s a special night at the Dakota\, as Southside Aces proudly release their tenth album\, The Big Beat. Here\, this will be their first ever album on vinyl. Ten tracks showcasing their obvious love of New Orleans music. Louis Armstrong\, Jelly Roll Morton\, Kid Ory\, and Fats Domino are all represented here. Additionally\, a little Amy Winehouse\, Butch Thompson\, and Duke Ellington thrown in for good measure. It’s a New Orleans party on a record. If you can’t hire the Aces for your next seafood boil\, then all you’d have to do is pull The Big Beat off your shelf and give it a spin! \nThe band will perform all the songs from the record\, and be available to sign your personal copy.  \nFor over two decades Southside Aces have been playing the repertoire of the Jazz Age greats and beyond. From the early New Orleans of Jelly Roll Morton to the Chicago joys of Louis Armstrong. The evocative compositions of the young Duke Ellington to the barrel house sounds of Preservation Hall. Even the early rock and roll of Fats Domino! Their belief in the contemporary vitality of New Orleans music can be heard on their eighth album\, 2022’s Minneapolis Bump. Here\, this album contains fifteen originals in the traditional style. March 2026 saw the release Les Oignons\, the band’s spotlight on the music of Sidney Bechet. Also\, now their tenth album\, The Big Beat. You hear it all when you’re in front of the Aces. Moreover\, treat yourself to a century’s worth of New Orleans Jazz. \nRecommended for fans of Preservation Hall Jazz Band\, Tuba Skinny\, Louis Armstrong and Fats Waller.

SUMMARY:Spaceport w. Tremolo Fields\, Alec Watson
DESCRIPTION:Spaceport began as a secret creative outlet for multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Arianna Wegley. The personal project grew into a band when longtime friends Todd Olson (drums) and Liam Moore (bass) joined to record their debut album\, Window Seat. Blending the energy of indie rock with experimental textures and rich orchestrations\, they follow their hearts and create music that’s catchy\, playful\, and sincere. Since releasing Window Seat in March 2023\, their music has been featured on local and national radio\, including The Current\, Radio K\, KFAI\, and college stations across the country. Avid performers rooted in many corners of their local music community\, they’ve become a fixture in the Twin Cities\, even opening for Dead Man Winter at the iconic First Avenue Mainroom. Their sophomore album Cut the Lake\, recorded at the legendary Pachyderm Studios\, was released on April 3\, 2026. \nWebsite: https://spaceport.band/ \nBandcamp: https://spaceport.bandcamp.com/ \nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/spaceportband/ \nSubstack: https://spaceport.substack.com/ \nSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6YCKjAffupgvAxNmgi7g96 \nApple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/spaceport/1664312362 \nTidal: https://tidal.com/artist/36657196/u \n\n  \nTremolo Fields is the moniker of Portland\, ME–based songwriter David Rogers. On his June 2026 EP\, produced by Wild Pink’s John Ross\, he weaves wiry indie rock and alt-folk with dream pop\, letting distorted guitars merge with confessional vocals over layered loops that swell and shift. Originally from Iowa City\, Rogers draws on his earlier days of punk basement shows and conversations with local folk heroes to craft music that fuses restless experimentation with heartfelt connection. \n\n\n\ntremolofields.com / instagram / spotify / bandcamp / epk

SUMMARY:Wren + Wilde w. Emily Havik at White Squirrel
DESCRIPTION:With heartflet harmonies and songs that smolder\, Wren + Wilde captivates with their signature smoke folk sound. The Minnesota folk band is anchored by singer songwriter\,  Hilary Yoder\, and harmonist extraordinaire\,Beth Olivares\, whose voices weave together like a homespun tapestry. Their gritty flavor of Americana is both raw and resonant\, with equal parts fire and feeling. Known for disarming storytelling\, Wren + Wilde invites listeners into an intimate space—where each song feels like a conversation\, and lyrics linger long after the last note fades. \n  \n\nEmily Haavik is a singer-songwriter from the shores of Lake Superior\, now based in Minneapolis. Her 2024 album Wingspan was dubbed “utter perfection” by Adventures in Americana and garnered her two Midwest Country Music Award nominations for Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. “The only thing more addicting than Emily’s systematic teardown of patriarchy is the ’90s country sensibility she pairs with it.” (Southern Minn Scene)

SUMMARY:Nur-D at Dakota
DESCRIPTION:“His energy is electric\, his mission inspired” – Lavender\nNur-D isn’t your typical hip-hop artist. Hailing from Minnesota\, he brings something fresh to the scene. Here\, this is hip-hop packed with personality\, high-energy performances\, and a kaleidoscopic mix of influences. Think contemporary rap infused with the pageantry of ‘80s glam rock\, with a sprinkle of pop and funk. It’s music made for anyone who’s ever felt like they don’t quite fit in. \nHis newest album\, 2025’s Chunkadelic\, is his most personal and hands-on project yet. Inspired by funk and soul\, the project is a vibrant celebration of creativity\, resilience\, and staying true to yourself. Additionally\, there’s more than a sprinkle of “shaking ass and getting paid”. \nSince bursting onto the scene in 2018\, Nur-D is turning up the volume on his signature style. With ten full-length projects\, each with their own flair in his discography\, Nur-D has something special for any occasion. You can go out on the town with “Take My Picture” or bop to “Collide”. Then\, channel flirty energy with “All My Friends Are So Hot\,” or just “Strut” your stuff. Don’t be afraid to ride the “Black Wizard Wave” and celebrate yourself! Finally\, let “HVN” ring with community and uplift you\, leaving you feeling “Glorious!” \nNur-D’s infectious energy and joy shine through\, where sharp lyricism\, humor\, and storytelling come together to create something special. Moreover\, his music is hip-hop with heart\, wit\, and a message\, delivered in a style that’s entirely his own. Also\, Nur-D has performed alongside MisterWives\, Ludacris\, Tyler The Creator\, and the Minnesota Orchestra. \nOne thing is clear: Nur-D isn’t just making music. He’s making a movement. It’s easy to see why many people are calling Nur-D the next big thing out of Minnesota! \nRecommended for fans of Atmosphere\, Dessa\, Ludacris and Tyler the Creator.
