SUMMARY:Aliah Sheffield
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 6:00 PM for Dinner and Drink Service.\n\n\nAliah Sheffield finds beauty in the in-between. Combining her moving vocals and introspective nature\, the singer-songwriter and instrumentalist molds minimalist soul and R&B to create a welcoming space surrounding her ruminations on love\, life\, and speaking truth to the world. The title of her debut EP for Def Jam Recordings\, These Songs Are For Anyone Sick of Earth\, is enough to give pause. On closer inspection\, its eight songs center the multitudes of feelings Sheffield has experienced over the last few years: betrayal\, sadness\, and tiredness\, yet still holding onto hope. \nBorn in Newark\, New Jersey\, and raised in Savannah\, Georgia\, Aliah Sheffield always wanted to be involved in music\, but it wasn’t until the pandemic that she felt she had the opportunity to really focus on her writing\, through which she could process the chaos from the safety of her bedroom. She sought an audience\, uploading videos of herself singing songs inspired by the minutiae of everyday life. In the two years since\, Sheffield has continued to grow. She moved back to Atlanta\, started learning how to produce\, and released an album\, Since You’ve Been Around (2021)\, with Soul’d Out. Earlier this year\, she relocated to Los Angeles. Most importantly\, she has continued to write every day\, even after completing These Songs Are For Anyone Sick of Earth. Written mostly in her bedroom or while on long walks\, the EP represents an artist who has finally found her voice. Now it’s all about getting the words out. aliahsheffield.com

SUMMARY:Isaiah Collier: Collier Plays Coltrane
DESCRIPTION:“heir apparent to both the Chicago lineage and the post-Coltrane sax tradition” – New York Times\n  \nOne of today’s most exciting saxophonists celebrates John Coltrane’s centennial! \nIsaiah Collier is a musical virtuoso in the truest sense of the phrase. He began playing saxophone at age eleven\, and his intuitive proficiency earned him attention early on. Ever since\, his band Isaiah Collier and The Chosen Few has been turning ears. \nIn 2025 he was featured on NPR’s “Jazz Night in America”\, and graced the cover of Downbeat Magazine. Additionally\, Chicago Tribune named him 2024’s Jazz Artist of the Year. New York Times selected his album The Almighty as one of the Top Ten Jazz Recordings of 2024. Furthermore\, The New York Times 2024 Fall Arts Preview featured him. Downbeat selected him as one of twenty-five for the future in 2024’s Ninetieth Anniversary issue. Also\, he won the Rising Star Award in Downbeat Magazine’s critics poll for tenor saxophone (2023)\, and soprano saxophone (2024). Then\, he was named a Steve Jobs Fellow. \nThere’s a regal\, elegant manner to Isaiah’s stage presence: he’s over 6 feet tall\, thin\, deep brown\, with high cheekbones. When not playing\, he is patiently waiting. Not contemplating his next move\, but listening to the musicians who accompany him\, listening to their stories. Here\, he explains that he’s never really hearing himself\, he’s hearing others play: some people have fire\, others have air. \nIsaiah Coller’s sound is a dynamic flurry of metaphors\, yet he can hold back when necessary. Thus\, he plays his influences\, which he describes as a “sonic time machine; you can’t really put a time or destination on it.” As far as he where he plans to take his music\, Collier says\, “I reach backwards\, and forwards simultaneously when creating art and what is ahead of me is the past.” \nRecommended for fans of John Coltrane\, Kamasi Washington\, Pharoah Sanders and Wayne Shorter. \n📸: Johanna Brinckmann

SUMMARY:GALACTIC COWBOY ORCHESTRA
DESCRIPTION:GALACTIC COWBOY ORCHESTRA was started in 2009 by founding member/bass player John Wright. The band was born out of a desire to play technically challenging music derived from John’s influences ranging from Mahavishnu Orchestra\, The Dixie Dregs and King Crimson\, to name a few. Wright enlisted the aid of guitarist Dan Neale\, who brought to the table many deep Jazz influences in his advanced playing and composing style. Along with the band’s first drummer\, Mark O’Day\, the beginnings of Galactic Cowboy Orchestra were found. Soon after\, violinist (and John’s wife) Lisi Wright joined the band with her aggressive “electric guitar player plays violin” style and engaging stage presence to complete the band’s sound and look. Fast forward 16 years: 6 studio releases (and one live)\, 3 Downbeat Nominations\, a Minnesota Arts Tour Grant\, collaborations with symphony orchestras\, thousands of miles of touring and the band is just getting started. \n2025 sees the GCO with a new studio release and a stronger than ever commitment to create the ultimate musical moment between the players and the audience with their Art Rock/Jazz Fusion creations.

SUMMARY:Ryan Picone Quartet with Patrick Harison
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 4:30 PM for Dinner and Drink Service.\n\n\nMusic inspired by legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt\nRyan Picone Quartet brings together Tessa Nichols – Meade\, Ian Stenlund and Matt Blake. This performance there will be special guest Patrick Harison on Accordion and Jose Betanzos on Guitar. \nRyan Picone: Lead GuitarTessa Nichols Meade: ViolinPatrick Harison: AccordionJose Betanzos: Rhythm GuitarMatt Blake: BassLed by guitarist and composer Dr. Ryan Anthony Picone\, the Ryan Picone Quartet has become a creative force in the Twin Cities’ jazz scene\, blending deep tradition with a modern\, global sensibility. A devoted acolyte of the celebrated guitarist Stéphane Wrembel\, Ryan’s music is rooted in the spirit of Django Reinhardt\, yet it ventures to other musical landscapes. The quartets sound reflects a tapestry of Ryan’s various influences — from Rumba Flamenca\, Choro\, and Cuban music to Indian Classical\, Post-Minimalist\, and Classical traditions — each woven seamlessly into the fabric of the quartet’s musical identity. \n“Swinging\, sensual\, moody\, rousing — Ryan Picone Quartet’s music follows the trail of Django Reinhardt’s Gypsy jazz. Listening to these tracks\, you can almost smell the campfire smoke and see the nighttime lights of Paris burning on the horizon. Bon voyage!” Review by author\, Michael Dregni\nwww.ryanpicone.com

His fascination with complex rhythmic syncopation\, provocative lyrical melodies\, and sophisticated harmony are at the heart of his music. Among his myriad critical accolades are multiple Grammys and Grammy nominations. Additionally\, twelve awards from polls conducted by Guitar Player magazine\, which inducted Di Meola into its Gallery of Greats. \nA bona fide guitar hero and prolific composer\, Di Meola has created more than thirty albums as a leader. SUMMARY:Leela James: 2BHONEST Tour at Pantages Theatre
DESCRIPTION:“burnished Southern soul… lung-busting power” – Rolling Stone\n  \nLeela James has carved out a singular space in music where classic soul meets contemporary R&B. She does this with a voice that’s raw\, powerful\, and unmistakably soul-stirring. She broke out with her debut\, 2005’s A Change Is Gonna Come. Since\, Leela has earned a reputation for blending deep\, emotive storytelling with gritty vocals and timeless grooves. Influenced by legends like Aretha Franklin\, Al Green\, and Chaka Khan\, she channels the spirit of old-school soul while fearlessly pushing musical boundaries. \nEarly in her career\, she was honored by the legendary James Brown\, who affectionately coined her “The Goddaughter of Soul.” There\, he recognized her authentic voice and powerful connection to the roots of the genre. \nMs. James has gone on to record and release seven LPs\, delivering seven Top Twenty R&B radio singles. These include two Number One tracks on the Billboard charts. Her 2021 single “Complicated” topped the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart for three consecutive weeks. Thus\, this solidified her reputation as a force in contemporary soul. \nHer beloved ballad\, 2022’s “Fall For You” is considered a modern classic and was certified Gold\, surpassing 500\,000 units sold. Over the years\, her music has become synonymous with passion\, authenticity\, and emotional honesty. Here\, this includes hits like “Don’t Want You Back” and “Say That” featuring Anthony Hamilton. \nIn 2014\, Leela won The Soul Train Certified Award. Then in 2021\, she garnered an NAACP Image Award nomination for Best R&B Collaboration. She earned another NAACP nomination in 2025 for her powerful single “Lookat Whatcha Done Now” featuring Kenyon Dixon. There\, this further cemented her role as a vital and enduring voice in modern soul. \nRecommended for fans of Lalah Hathaway\, Eric Roberson\, Alicia Keys and Jill Scott.

(creeksideruffians.com)\n\n\nSidewalk Diamonds–Forged through friendship and a love of music\, Sidewalk Diamonds play “Garage Americana\,” a soulful blend of rock and Americana with a raucous spirit. The band’s name is a nod to the John Prine lyric\, “from the diamonds on the sidewalk\, to the dirt in the gutter\,” encapsulating the group’s balance between grit and grace. That duality shines through in their music\, led by the unmistakable vocal harmonies of Beth and Tony\, who share a mutual admiration for artists like Neko Case and PJ Harvey.\n\n\n\nAccess Otherwise are Wade Kolata\, Joe Plummer\, Sam Ridenour\, and Mark Kalar. Playing groove-based instrumental rock\, they create the soundtrack for late-night movies that never were. https://accessotherwise.bandcamp.com/
