SUMMARY:Spring Swing with BluLuna
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 6:00 PM for Dinner and Drink Service.\n\n\nJazz from the Heart\nBluLuna was formed by four veteran musicians out of their love for myriad genres of the jazz idiom without restraining themselves to one specific branch of the music. By focusing on familiar melodic compositions\, this bias-free approach has allowed them to concentrate on playing very fresh and sparkling ideas honoring the wide range of America’s 1st original sonic art. The result is a startlingly warm delivery of a strong yet hyper-sensitive mélange of enchanting moments. \nDean Magraw: GuitarRick Carlson: PianoSteve Pikal: BassJay Epstein: Drums \nDean Magraw studied at the University of Minnesota and Berklee College of Music in Boston. He spent five years in Beantown\, playing professionally and teaching. After returning to his hometown St. Paul\, he’s had a life of music – playing\, composing\, arranging\, producing\, & recording. Magraw’s music is impossible to pigeonhole. For 15 years\, he was half of a duo with mandolinist Peter Ostroushko. He has collaborated with Masahiro Nitta\, who plays the traditional Japanese shamisen; with Nigel Kennedy\, Britain’s bad boy of the classical violin; with Nirmala Rajasekar\, South Indian vocalist and player of the vina; with the singers Bruce Henry\, Ruth MacKenzie\, and Claudia Schmidt; with the Irish supergroup Altan. As a jazz cat\, he leads his own trio\, performs with Chris Bates & Jay Epstein as Red Planet since 2002\, and more recently has formed BluLuna. \n“With four of our favorite musicians comprising BluLuna\, we were prepared for a great night of improv. They even exceeded our expectations\, as was evidenced by the great audience response!” – Mike Wolsted\ndeanmagraw.com

DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 5:00 PM for Dinner and Drink service.\n\n\n1977\, Studio 54\, Disco Era\nStudio 54 burst onto the scene in 1977 and its glamour and pageantry defined the disco era. Certainly Studio 54 was a place to party\, but in its intermingling of art and culture\, the club was a kind of performance piece in and of itself. The club’s admission policy only let in a select few … however it drew a mix of denizens from ALL walks of life\, and the club offered a haven where people from diverse backgrounds\, sexual orientations and gender identities could come together without judgment. On any night the guests might include Liza Minnelli\, Andy Warhol\, Grace Jones\, the drag queen Divine and Bianca Jagger along with patrons of all races\, socio economic scales and sexual orientation. Even though the original club was only open for three years … it created a space where all were welcome to come and dance\, party\, people watch and just celebrate being together. \nIt’s time for “A RETURN TO STUDIO 54!” \nSome of the artists featured in the show include Evelyn “Champagne” King\, Chaka Khan\, Diana Ross\, The Pointer Sisters\, Tina Turner\, Gloria Gaynor\, Donna Summer\, The Weather Girls and many more! A few of the disco classics you will experience are Shame\, I’m Every Woman\, I Will Survive\, It’s Raining Men\, Boogie\, Oogie Oogie\, Don’t Leave Me This Way\, We Are Family\, No More Tears (Enough is Enough) … We’re going to leave it there. We don’t want to give everything away! \nFeaturing: \nPatty Peterson: Vocals \nJudi Vinar: Vocals \nGinger Commodore: Vocals \nRachel Holder: Vocals \nLori Dokken: Music Director\, Piano\, Vocals \nJoe Elliott: Guitar \nTony Axtell: Bass \nDavid Stanoch: Drums \n \nwww.loridokken.com

SUMMARY:DELLA MAE with Half Baked
DESCRIPTION:GRAMMY-nominated all-woman string band playing bluegrass\, Americana\, and folk music steeped in rich harmonies and soul-stirring melodies.\n\n\nThe Cedar Presents \nDELLA MAE with Half Baked\nSaturday\, April 25\, 2026 / Doors: 7:00 PM / Show: 8:00 PM \nAll Ages \nSeated \nThis is a seated show with general admission\, first-come-first-served seating. The Cedar is happy to reserve seats for patrons who require special seating accommodations. To request access accommodations\, please go to our Access page. \nFor Cedar presented shows\, online ticket sales typically end one hour before the door time\, and then\, based on availability\, tickets will be available at the door. Tickets purchased at the door will include a $1 Eventbrite fee. \n\n\nABOUT THIS SHOW\nDella Mae is a GRAMMY-nominated all-woman string band playing bluegrass\, Americana\, and folk music steeped in rich harmonies and soul-stirring melodies.  \nAs a majority queer\, fiercely feminist five-piece acoustic outfit\, sing fearlessly on topics that might rile the genre’s traditionally conservative audiences. Recent albums have covered everything from domestic violence and fertility issues to the separation of families at the US border with Mexico. They also play barnstorming numbers about motorbikes and bourbon. – The Guardian\, 2022.  \n\n\n\nPhoto by Laura Schneider \n\n\nDELLA MAE\nEach generation\, perhaps once a decade\, bluegrass experiences a band or an artist that redefines and recenters the genre itself. Della Mae is one such band.  \nThe GRAMMY-nominated string band was founded in 2010 and over the next decade and a half they’ve demonstrated to the roots music world\, once and for all\, that a band of all women is not\, nor has ever been\, a mere novelty. They remain at the forefront of the explosion of women instrumentalists and all-women acts in roots music and their impact is striking and measurable – not just in North America\, but around the globe. \nNow 15 years since their origin\, Della Mae can boast their strongest lineup yet. Founders Kimber Ludiker and Celia Woodsmith are joined by guitarist and songwriter Avril Smith and vocalist and two-time IBMA Bass Player of the Year Vickie Vaughn. \nThere has never been a band like Della Mae in roots music before\, but thanks to Kimber Ludiker\, Celia Woodsmith\, Avril Smith\, Vickie Vaughn – and all of the women who have been part of this band over its long life – we know there will be many more bands\, singers\, songwriters\, and pickers just like Della Mae in the future. \nTo learn more about DELLA MAE: \n\nVisit their website here\n\n\n\n\nHalf Baked\nHalf Baked is a new-ish bluegrass project comprised of veteran Twin Cities musicians Liz Ashworth (La Plant Road)\, resident mandolin phenom\, flat picking champion Clint Birtzer (High 48s\, Sawtooth)\, Wisconsin banjo prodigy David Robinson (High 48s\, formerly Monroe Crossing)\, sweet and saucy Rina Rossi on bass (Steam Machine\, Alum Ridge Boys and Ashlee)\, and fiddle champ AJ Srubas (Steam Machine\, Alum Ridge Boys and Ashlee). \nOriginally assembled for a one-time only Kenny Baker tribute show\, they had way too much fun playing together and decided they better find some excuse to continue. The project has expanded beyond it’s Baker tune origins to explore a wide variety of traditional and contemporary bluegrass repertoire\, including vocal duets\, trios\, and quartets\, instrumentals\, and everything from trad grass to mash grass to whatever else they feel like playing. \nTo learn more about Half Baked: \n\nVisit their website here

SUMMARY:120 Minutes
DESCRIPTION:In the halcyon days of the ‘80s and ’90s\, VCRs in small towns across the country hummed quietly in the dead of the night\, capturing two straight hours of music videos straight from the fringes of popular culture. Punk\, new wave\, college rock\, indie rock\, shoegaze\, slowcore\, grunge. 120 Minutes was MTV’s means of getting these sub- and cross-genres on the airwaves\, and for those of us who were teens and tweens and young adults\, it was our introduction to and education about music beyond the limits of the Top 20 Countdown. \n120 Minutes — the tribute band — is our means of honoring and reliving those days.

SUMMARY:Conor Lee w. Matt McIntyre\, Audrey Q at White Squirrel
DESCRIPTION:Shaped by years as a sideman\, Conor Lee music draws influence from the vast worlds of alternative rock\, pop\, and contemporary jazz music. His guitar driven instrumental music explores themes of nostalgia\, soul-searching\, escapism\, and navigating hardship. Lee’s music has been played on The Current\, KFAI\, and Prairie Public Broadcasting. \nThe Matt McIntyre trio is an original jazz trio featuring Jordan Hedlund on organ and Pete Hennig on drums.  Matt’s custom 8 string hybrid guitar allows him to play simultaneous bass and melodies\, twisting the traditional organ trio roles. Great for fans of Garage a Trois\, Delvon Lamarr\, and anyone who likes progressive takes on Afro-Peruvian music. \n  \n\n \nAudrey Q writes off-kilter\, classically-informed pop songs for her own voice\, 3 cellos\, and drums. Her songs range from dark\, sparse meditations to sunny\, catchy bops. Her credits as a cellist include touring with big productions like Hamilton and The Who\, but as a songwriter she’s happy playing house shows and neighborhood bars. Patty Ryan and Rosa Thompson-Vieira will be joining on cellos\, as well as Dave Power on drums.

SUMMARY:Mac and Cheese at Dubliner
DESCRIPTION:Pete McCauley and Tim Cheesebrow are a duo from the Twin Cities\, bringing old tunes to life and having a great time doing it. \nPete McCauley (vocals\, mandolin\, guitar): Pete has played in numerous bands over the years. A founding member and the original guitarist for the rock trio Eddie Mac\, he spent a few years traveling the country\, earned a record contract with SPV Records in Germany\, and released two albums with the independent label Mud Hut Records. Pete also writes material for the Hounds of Finn. Pete met Tim a few years back and asked if they should learn some pub tunes and make some noise together…the rest\, as they say\, is history. Not the kind of history that would make it into any sort of book\, but since it is in the past\, it technically is…history. \nTim Cheesebrow (guitar\, vocals\, occasional mandolin and pennywhistle): Tim is primarily a singer/songwriter. He’ s got 6 or so albums under his belt\, several tours and an extensive solo performance career. He’s always had a spot in his heart for traditional Irish and American folk songs\, and jumped at a chance to play this music with Pete. He’s the founder of Discover Music\, a non-profit that teaches kids to write songs as a healthy mode of self discovery and expression\, and is the author of “Songwriting for Wellness: Using Music to Heal the Mind.” \nfacebook page

SUMMARY:Black Violin: Full Circle Tour at Dakota

Click the links below for tickets!\nAPR 23\nAPR 24 \n\n  \n“fusion of classical\, hip-hop\, blues\, and R&B” – Glide\n  \nStep into Black Violin’s Full Circle Tour! Here\, Grammy-nominated duo Wil Baptiste and Kev Marcus redefine the possibilities of music by merging classical depth with hip-hop’s pulse. Also\, this tour captures the essence of returning to where it all began—transformed and reimagined. Each powerful performance invites audiences to reflect on their own journeys\, discovering that even as we evolve\, we’re often drawn back to our roots with renewed purpose.  \nFrom high school orchestra classmates to groundbreaking artists\, Black Violin’s path reflects resilience\, creativity\, and the courage to challenge expectations. Furthermore\, their Black Violin Foundation reaches over 100\,000 students each year\, building a legacy that transcends the stage. Join them for an unforgettable night that celebrates growth\, music\, and the beauty of coming full circle. \nThe members of Black Violin met on the first day of orchestra class in 1996. There\, they both attended Dillard High School of the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale. (Baptiste originally wanted to play saxophone in the band. However\, the orchestra teacher assigned him to his class after winning a golf bet with the band instructor.) Classically trained by day\, they faithfully put on their headphones and listened to the hottest rap records each night. Then\, after attending different colleges\, they reconvened\, moved into an apartment together\, and started trying to produce other musicians. \nThey developed an act covering hip-hop songs on their violins\, which became popular in local clubs. Two years after sending in a tape to Showtime at the Apollo\, the show invited to appear— which they won\, and kept winning. Since then\, they’ve worked with Alicia Keys\, Alessia Cara\, 2 Chainz\, Lil Wayne\, Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park)\, and more. \nRecommended for fans of 2Cellos\, Lindsey Stirling\, The String Queens and Damien Escobar.
