SUMMARY:Isaiah Collier: Collier Plays Coltrane
DESCRIPTION:“heir apparent to both the Chicago lineage and the post-Coltrane sax tradition” – New York Times\n  \nOne of today’s most exciting saxophonists celebrates John Coltrane’s centennial! \nIsaiah Collier is a musical virtuoso in the truest sense of the phrase. He began playing saxophone at age eleven\, and his intuitive proficiency earned him attention early on. Ever since\, his band Isaiah Collier and The Chosen Few has been turning ears. \nIn 2025 he was featured on NPR’s “Jazz Night in America”\, and graced the cover of Downbeat Magazine. Additionally\, Chicago Tribune named him 2024’s Jazz Artist of the Year. New York Times selected his album The Almighty as one of the Top Ten Jazz Recordings of 2024. Furthermore\, The New York Times 2024 Fall Arts Preview featured him. Downbeat selected him as one of twenty-five for the future in 2024’s Ninetieth Anniversary issue. Also\, he won the Rising Star Award in Downbeat Magazine’s critics poll for tenor saxophone (2023)\, and soprano saxophone (2024). Then\, he was named a Steve Jobs Fellow. \nThere’s a regal\, elegant manner to Isaiah’s stage presence: he’s over 6 feet tall\, thin\, deep brown\, with high cheekbones. When not playing\, he is patiently waiting. Not contemplating his next move\, but listening to the musicians who accompany him\, listening to their stories. Here\, he explains that he’s never really hearing himself\, he’s hearing others play: some people have fire\, others have air. \nIsaiah Coller’s sound is a dynamic flurry of metaphors\, yet he can hold back when necessary. Thus\, he plays his influences\, which he describes as a “sonic time machine; you can’t really put a time or destination on it.” As far as he where he plans to take his music\, Collier says\, “I reach backwards\, and forwards simultaneously when creating art and what is ahead of me is the past.” \nRecommended for fans of John Coltrane\, Kamasi Washington\, Pharoah Sanders and Wayne Shorter. \n📸: Johanna Brinckmann

SUMMARY:Aliah Sheffield
DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 6:00 PM for Dinner and Drink Service.\n\n\nAliah Sheffield finds beauty in the in-between. Combining her moving vocals and introspective nature\, the singer-songwriter and instrumentalist molds minimalist soul and R&B to create a welcoming space surrounding her ruminations on love\, life\, and speaking truth to the world. The title of her debut EP for Def Jam Recordings\, These Songs Are For Anyone Sick of Earth\, is enough to give pause. On closer inspection\, its eight songs center the multitudes of feelings Sheffield has experienced over the last few years: betrayal\, sadness\, and tiredness\, yet still holding onto hope. \nBorn in Newark\, New Jersey\, and raised in Savannah\, Georgia\, Aliah Sheffield always wanted to be involved in music\, but it wasn’t until the pandemic that she felt she had the opportunity to really focus on her writing\, through which she could process the chaos from the safety of her bedroom. She sought an audience\, uploading videos of herself singing songs inspired by the minutiae of everyday life. In the two years since\, Sheffield has continued to grow. She moved back to Atlanta\, started learning how to produce\, and released an album\, Since You’ve Been Around (2021)\, with Soul’d Out. Earlier this year\, she relocated to Los Angeles. Most importantly\, she has continued to write every day\, even after completing These Songs Are For Anyone Sick of Earth. Written mostly in her bedroom or while on long walks\, the EP represents an artist who has finally found her voice. Now it’s all about getting the words out. aliahsheffield.com

SUMMARY:Piss with Style w. Ben Vogel & JWAC
DESCRIPTION:If CBGB\, noise rock\, and the garage revival had a 3 way\, their unholy love child would be donned Piss with Style.   With loud\, funky and emotionally charged songs\, their influences span decades of rock n’ roll royalty\, all while poetically creating gritty personal narratives\, and grappling with both existential dread and urban decay.   The Twin Cities have resurrected Piss with Style to the fear and pleasure of everyone in their wake. \n30 chords and a cloud of dust – \nSpecializing in tightly-constructed pop songs about the messiness of life\, Ben Vogel lets loose with his intricate guitar-playing and distinctly vibrant voice. \nSince he abandoned academia for the rock & roll life\, Vogel has cooked up a unique take on power pop with subtle accent flavors that range from prog-rock to R&B. Imagine a harder-rocking Crowded House that occasionally edges into Daryl Hall territory. \nDefiantly untethered to modern trends without being overtly retro\, he truly makes “pop music for people who hate pop music.” \nOriginally (and proudly) hailing from Spokane\, Ben is currently based in Minneapolis and is working on new material for 2026. \n  \n  JWAC is a three-piece rock band from Saint Paul\, Minnesota\, specializing in blending\n\nfunk and punk genres. Beginning as purely an acoustic band playing lengthy \nimprovisations\, they have grown into competent songwriters and instrumentalists\, \ncovering wide ground in a short span of songs. They are so excited to share their new \nmaterial\, covers and jam sessions with the world!
