SUMMARY:The New Havoline Supremes
DESCRIPTION:The New Havoline Supremes are a Twin Cities based band\,  featuring the legendary Mary Cutrufello on guitar and vocals\, and Dan Lowinger on guitar.  Formed in October of 2023\, the band plays a mix of classic country and Mary’s original tunes\, and features Greg Schutte (Ryan Bingham\, Mickey Hart\, Chasity Brown) on drums\, and Erik Lillestol (Cafe Accordion) on bass.\n\nMary Cutrufello\n\nWith 30 years of experience in the music business\, Mary Cutrufello is everything from Texas honky-tonk heroine and fiery Midwestern roots-rocker to a powerhouse acoustic performer. Connecticut-raised and Yale-educated\, Mary’s musical journey has taken her from the East Coast to Houston and now to Minnesota.  Career highlights include: the major label release of    ”When the Night is Through\,” on Mercury Records in 1998\, appearances on national tv shows such as Tonight Show with Jay Leno\, appearances at major festivals including Farm Aid\, and tours with Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Tish Hinojosa.  Mary has seven self-released albums\, and has played guitar locally for Annie Mack\, Michael Perry and the Long Beds\, and many others.\n\n\n\nDan Lowinger\, a transplant from Portland\, OR\, is a guitarist steeped in the tradition of Western swing and classic country. Since moving to the Twin Cities in 2017\, Dan has become a fixture in the local country and Americana scene\, playing on a regular basis with all star Western swing band Honky Tonk Jump\, and country rockers Cole Diamond\, while also sharing the stage with local greats\, Martin Zellar (Gear Daddies)\, Tony Andreason (The Trashmen)\, Pat Donohue (Prairie Home Companion) and many others! He has performed regionally and toured nationally with many different country and swing bands from the Pacific Northwest including: The Barn Door Slammers\, Ralph Carney’s Pepper Grinders\, Vince Mira\, and Western Centuries.

Furthermore\, they were featured on season thirteen of America’s Got Talent. The Current calls them “Minneapolis’s latest and greatest.” Additionally\, producer Terry Lewis says\, “they have many years of music ahead of them”. Also\, Jon Bream (Star Tribune) says “they have oodles of talent and potential”. Sounds Of Blackness founder/leader Gary Hines raves about the group. “They are super-talented\, highly skilled and gifted musicians\, writers and performers with unique sound and style.” The band has shared the stage with Sounds of Blackness\, PJ Morton of Maroon 5\, Stokely\, and many others. \nNUNNABOVE is Cadence\, Mattie\, Bennett\, and Wisdom. Here\, these four siblings take their influences from funk\, jazz\, rock and neo-soul to generate their own sound and style. Also\, Their inspiration ranges from The Purple One to the Gloved One\, The 1975 to Chaka Khan. For these siblings\, family is life and the key to what they create musically. As featured artists at Prince’s Paisley Park Celebration in 2023\, they became one of the concert’s most memorable moments. Matthew Allen of The Grio writes\, “The Minneapolis Sound seems to be in good hands.” Chaka Khan\, who also attended the celebration\, heard the group and embraced them with praise when she met them. Then\, she invited them to open for her and Boys II Men two months later at the Minnesota State Fair. \nWith new music dropping in 2026\, this promises to be another great year for NUNNABOVE. Often\, the teenage Cyrille would climb out of her bedroom window at night to mingle with the players. Thus\, this ignited a passion for jazz. \nMoving to New York City\, her talents quickly earned her a reputation among her peers as a matchless song interpreter. She worked with Roy Hargrove and stole the show in front of the notoriously hard-to-please crowd at the Harlem Apollo. Steven Sondheim invited her to star in a tribute at New York’s City Centre\, backed by Wynton Marsalis. Her 2019 album Move On featured versions of Sondheim’s songs which received praise from Sondheim himself. Additionally\, she earned a 2019 Grammy nomination for her version of “Marry Me a Little”. \nAt the height of her New York success\, new horizons beckoned. Visiting New Orleans\, she fell in love with the energy and diversity of the city and made it her home. Then\, she teamed up with producer/multi-instrumentalist Jake Sherman\, and together they created her latest album\, 2024’s A Fleur de Peau. \nThe album combines the depth and sophistication of jazz\, the immediacy of pop\, and the irrepressible dance rhythms of the Caribbean.
