DESCRIPTION:MacPhail Presents: Performance Today Young Artist in Residence Salvador Flores in partnership with YourClassical MPR.\n\n\nWednesday\, July 15 | 4:30–5:30 p.m.Antonello Hall\, MacPhail Center for MusicFree Event • RSVP Requested \n \nJoin us for a special performance and conversation with saxophonist Salvador Flores\, a former Performance Today Young Artist in Residence and member of the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own.” \nAccompanied by collaborative pianist Andrew Kosinski\, Salvador will present a recital featuring works from his newly released album while sharing insights from his musical journey since being named a Performance Today Young Artist in Residence in 2022. Following the performance\, audience members will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A and learn more about life as a professional musician. \nCurrently based in the Washington\, D.C. area\, Salvador performs with a wide range of ensembles—from local funk bands to the National Symphony Orchestra and Washington National Opera—and is recognized for his versatility as a performer\, educator\, and advocate for new music. \nPresented in partnership with YourClassical MPR and American Public Media’s Performance Today®\, this special residency connects MacPhail students and the community with one of today’s emerging classical artists through performance\, conversation\, and mentorship. \n \nFree admission.
