SUMMARY:MonoNeon at Dakota
DESCRIPTION:“MonoNeon’s astounding musical range\, tone and taste are always on full display.” – Fender\n  \nMonoNeon is an American bassist and experimental musician from Memphis\, Tennessee. He is known for his presence on YouTube playing bass guitar and being one of the last people to work with Prince. He is notable for his participation on the 2020 Nas album King’s Disease\, for which he won a Grammy. Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers has referred to Mono as “The greatest… electric bass player”. Fender released the MonoNeon Collection\, which included the MonoNeon Jazz Bass VSignature\, in 2022. \nMonoNeon was the last bassist hired by Prince. Here\, they worked together for a brief but pivotal time before Prince’s death in 2016. Unlike most artists in Prince’s orbit\, he allowed MonoNeon significant creative freedom. MonoNeon says he often encouraged him to “do whatever I wanted to do” musically. \nMonoNeon has played the stages of Newport Jazz Festival\, Montreal Jazz Festival\, Summer Camp\, and Blue Note Jazz Festival. Also\, Ground Up\, New Orleans Jazz Festival\, Life is Beautiful Festival\, and more. Additionally\, he has worked with Mavis Staples\, George Clinton\, Kat Williams\, Nas\, Ne Yo\, and Mac Miller. Also\, Georgia Anne Muldrow\, Kingfish\, Pete Rock\, and more. \nRecommended for fans of Ghost-Note\, Thundercat\, Mohini Dey and Victor Wooten.

SUMMARY:Livingston Taylor at Dakota
DESCRIPTION:“Taylor is a terrific performer: generous\, funny\, wry” – East Greenwich News\n  \nLivingston Taylor’s career as a professional musician spans more than five decades\, encompassing performance\, songwriting\, recording\, and teaching. Thus\, people often describe him as equal parts Mark Twain\, college professor\, and musical icon. Livingston maintains an active touring schedule of over 100 shows a year. There\, he delights audiences with his wit\, warmth\, and expansive repertoire drawn from twenty-five albums\, along with beloved classics. \nAs a songwriter\, Livingston has penned Top Forty hits that his brother James Taylor recorded. Additionally\, he has shared the stage with artists such as Joni Mitchell\, Linda Ronstadt\, Fleetwood Mac\, and Jimmy Buffett. Taylor’s music spans many genres—folk\, pop\, classical\, gospel\, and jazz. His performances range from upbeat storytelling and intimate ballads to full orchestral concerts\, which he delivers with his trademark ease and connection. \nFor over three decades\, alongside his performing career\, Livingston served as a full professor at Berklee College of Music\, There\, he created and taught the acclaimed course Stage Performance. His former students include Charlie Puth\, John Mayer\, Susan Tedeschi\, Molly Tuttle\, Liz Longley\, and Gavin DeGraw. Today\, Livingston takes this course “on the road\,” teaching at colleges and institutions nationwide. For example\, the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami\, NASA’s Goddard Space Center\, and Tulane Law School. He based his book Stage Performance on the course and more than fifty years (5\,000+ hours) of real-world stage experience. Moreover\, performers and presenters have made it a go-to resource for elevating their craft from good to truly professional. \nAn airplane-flying\, motorcycle-riding\, singing storyteller\, Livingston Taylor continues to captivate audiences wherever he performs. Solo\, with a band\, or in front of an orchestra\, Taylor brings heart\, humor\, and humanity to every stage. \n  \n \nChelsea Berry is a Maine-based indie singer/songwriter known for her powerhouse vocals and commanding stage presence. Acclaimed artist Susan Werner once dubbed her “the Pink of folk music”. Here\, this is a nod to Berry’s genre-blending style\, emotional depth\, and vibrant live energy. Additionally\, Berry has built a loyal following through heartfelt songwriting and magnetic performances. \nRecommended for fans of James Taylor\, Linda Ronstadt\, Jimmy Buffett and Joni Mitchell. \n📸: Mim Adkins

SUMMARY:Stella Cole at Dakota
DESCRIPTION:“vintage superstar” – Postmodern Jukebox\n  \nWith a voice that bridges generations\, Stella Cole has cultivated nearly 2 million social media followers. There\, she connects with them through her fresh interpretations of timeless songs by Judy Garland\, Frank Sinatra\, and Nat “King” Cole. Moreover\, fans and critics often described her as a Laufey-meets-Bublé sensation. Thus\, Cole brings a fresh interpretation of classic repertoire to a new generation. \nCole was raised in rural Illinois on Hollywood musicals like Singin’ in the Rain and The Wizard of Oz. However\, Cole told Elle that she “never expected this life\,” and she has earned praise for her soulful interpretations of the Great American Songbook. Additionally\, she’s earned fans including James Taylor\, David Foster\, and Michael Bublé. Moreover\, she’s performed on The Today Show\, Live with Kelly and Mark\, Tamron Hall\, and toured the U.S.\, Europe\, and Asia.  \n“It’s amazing to think that this music can be a balm for people’s stress and anxiety\,” says Stella. “Don’t forget\, these songs helped people get through the Great Depression and World War II. That’s the most gratifying thing of all\, experiencing how this music can help people.” Here\, Cole remains authentic and faithful to the traditions in which these songs have been heard for all these years. Furthermore\, she adds a personal charisma that transcends the generations. \nRecommended for fans of Emmaline\, Haley Reinhart\, Postmodern Jukebox and Morgan James.

SUMMARY:Ms. Lisa Fischer & Grand Baton at Dakota
DESCRIPTION:“Lisa Fischer in concert is addictive… transcendent” – Star Tribune\n  \nWhen the iconic Ms. Lisa Fischer sings\, she brings a joyous sense of discovery to every setting. The Grammy and Oscar-winning powerhouse vocalist is at the peak of her powers\, blazing her own path. Additionally\, she carries traces of the legendary stars she’s collaborated with over four decades. However\, Fischer is a constellation in her own right\, singing with what Keith Richards describes as “amazing power\, energy\, and projection”. Also\, he should know: Fischer toured with the Rolling Stones for twenty-six years. \nFinally\, Fischer has taken her rightful place among America’s greatest vocalists. She truly does it all: she can stretch out in an intimate duo with jazz piano maestro Taylor Eigsti. Then\, she raises the roof with the spiritually charged Gullah funk combo Ranky Tanky. She creates luminous soundscapes onstage with the dancers of Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Also\, she follows her uninhibited muse with her trio Grand Baton and their organic fusion of Caribbean psychedelic soul and jazzy progressive rock. “A talent that comes once in a lifetime\,” declares Roberta Flack. “Like Haley’s Comet\, her brilliance is dazzling and brings light into the world.”  \nAt first glance Fischer might seem like a paradox. She spent much of her career exulting in the role of the ultimate team player as an elite backup singer. She shared the stage with Luther Vandross\, the Rolling Stones\, Sting\, Tina Turner\, and Nine Inch Nails. But when her story was featured in the Oscar-winning 2013 documentary 20 Feet From Stardom\, Fischer experienced a course-changing epiphany. “I was always looking at the next tour\, the next gig\,” she said. “The film gave me a chance to take stock and realize I could start defining my own path.” \nRecommended for fans of Patti LaBelle\, Roberta Flack\, Tina Turner and Luther Vandross. \n📸: Christina Alonso
