Early Show w. Scott Hefte and the Bury ‘Em Deep, Gentleman Speaker, Katie Marshall at White Squirrel

Gentleman Speaker: Gentleman Speaker breathes fresh life into the midwest music scene with their most recent release, The Well Between Continents (October 2021), and has carved themselves out a unique and recognizable style on the indie rock/power pop spectrum, injecting new energy into their already magnetic live performances.  Gentleman Speaker is primed to amplify their catalogue with the much anticipated upcoming album, Hell and Somewhere Else, due out in late 2024. Their style can be compared to indie icons such as Built to Spill, The Strokes, and Car Seat Headrest. Scott Hefte and the Bury ‘em Deep: From the ashes of such bands as Seymore Saves the World, Superdanger, Me and My Arrow, and Beasthead, rises a dark and brooding indie-western soundtrack for your apocalypse. Scott Hefte and the Bury ‘em Deep have combined to create hellish landscapes of a dystopian nightmare while not forgetting the righteous influences of old school country, indie-pop, and noise rock. The resulting sound is one of Johnny Cash, Phil Collins, and Godspeed You Black Emperor, fighting a bloodless three way cage match for superiority. No one wins but you, when you dig the music of Scott Hefte and the Bury ‘em Deep. Katie Marshall: Katie Marshall is a Minneapolis-based singer songwriter who has been peddling tunes from coast to coast for more years than she’ll admit. Once indie rocker, once electronic pop songstress, once honkey tonk cowgirl… she’s returned to her roots as a solo acoustic performer of carefully crafted tunes, sharp-edged lyrics, and delicious melodic vices. That makes it sound a little like a cooking show, but be assured: The only thing cooking is a good time.
