Don’t miss this 13-piece jazz orchestra in a night of compositions and new arrangements of jazz and pop favorites. Composer, arranger and jazz pianist Adi Yeshaya was born and raised in Israel. Graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Adi has been active, both as a musician and educator for nearly four decades. His credentials include arranging and orchestration for many artists, including Prince, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Lena Horne, Burt Bacharach, The Swiss Jazzaar jazz festival, and for NBC’s The Voice. As a resident of the Twin Cities, he served as a pianist and musical director for the late Debbie Duncan for nearly three decades until her passing; performed and arranged for the Minnesota Orchestra with conductors Sarah Hicks and Doc Severinsen; and for countless singers and ensembles like Dennis Spears, Gwen Matthews, Bruce Henry, Cookie Coleman, Ginger Commodore, Prudence Johnson, the Guthrie Theater, Jack McDuff, JazzMN Big Band, The Peterson Family and his own big band. Thomasina Petrus vocals Thom West piano Thomasina Petrus is a professional jazz singer, songwriter and 30yr AEA actor who cultivated her multi-talents through study, mentorship, and friendships with many twin cities elite artists. She is a creative muse rooted in the legacy of black women’s voices. Thomasina now creates exceptional music and theatre experiences for stage, film, corporate and commercial marketing. She has toured the country honoring Billie Holiday with productions of “Lady Day @ Emerson’s Bar & Grill” by Lanie Robertson. Thomasina has staged original productions “The Best of Billie & Me”. “Etta James…Dreams to Remember”, “Hot Chocolate”, a multi-Holiday concert series and full musical stage production. Thomasina is co-author of “Hold” a musical poem/play with incarcerated women and HCL. Thomasina is currently scoring music for the world premiere of “Ashti’s Journey to Jazz” by Carmen Rubin and was just honored by the Twin Cities Film Festival 2023 for her work on the documentary soundtrack “The Water Cries” for “The Juneteenth Story, From Galveston, TX to Minnesota”, and “Bells for Philando” 2022, both produced with OMG Media Solutions. For the last 30 years, he’s resided in Minneapolis playing all styles on both instruments. He was in Portland, OR in 2008-’09 where he recorded 3 CDs with fellow guitarist Mike Doolin. Their latest CD is ‘Dark Star’ (2016). His newest recording is ‘ReLit’ (2024) along with ‘Play On’ (2019) with vocalist Vicky Mountain. He has received a 2020 Artist Rescue Trust Grant, a 2020 and 2021 Twin Cities Music Community Trust Grant, a 2020 Springboard for the Arts Grant, and a 2020 Working Partnerships USA Grant.
