Tedd Firth: Piano Tedd Firth is a musical director, pianist and arranger. As musical director and accompanist he has worked with Bernadette Peters, Michael Feinstein, Marilyn Maye, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Barbara Cook, Maureen McGovern, Elaine Paige, Tom Wopat, Leslie Uggams, Joshua Bell, Melissa Errico, Christine Ebersole, Lee Ann Womack, Faith Prince, John Schneider, Betty Buckley, Mary Cleere Haran, Margaret Whiting, Carol Sloane and many others. Among the jazz musicians he has performed or recorded with are John Pizzarelli, Houston Person, Frank Wess, Mark Whitfield, Red Holloway, Benny Golson and Joe Morello. As an arranger and orchestrator, Tedd’s work has been performed by all major American symphony orchestras. In 2023, Tedd created the two piano arrangements and full orchestrations for the concert “Two Pianos: Who Could Ask for Anything More?” featuring Michael Feinstein and classical pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Years ago, John Magnuson was in a Minneapolis band called the Carpetbaggers. John wrote and sang many of the band’s songs. In November of 2020, John released an Americana Indie/Folk-Rock-ish record (with splashes of twang) called Barely Noticeable. In 2024, he released Waiting For The Water To Recede. His eponymous trio+ consists of Paul McFarland (Run Westy Run, Lolo’s Ghost), John Sandbo (Curtiss A and the Dark Click), and JJ Benson (Lolo’s Ghost and many others). With special guest Doug Otto and Hilary Thavis.

Jazz and Nightclub Legend The award-winning Marilyn Maye appeared 76 times on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, the record for appearances by a singer. He called her “Super-Singer”. Steve Allen presented her at various times on his national television show, which led to an RCA recording contract, seven albums and 34 singles including her hit record of “Cabaret”. Beside the 76 appearances on Carson, she performed multiple times on The Merv Griffin Show, The Mike Douglas Show, The Hollywood Palace, The Jim Nabors Show and 3 appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show. Maye appeared twice, 2019 and 2022 on CBS Sunday Morning with Mo Rocca. On NBC’s Harry, she sang her classic version of “Here’s To Life” and was interviewed by Harry Connick, Jr. Her RCA recording of “Too Late Now” was included by the Smithsonian Institution on an album of the 110 best American compositions of the 20th century. Last year, her concert in Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall was preceded by a full-page preview in The New York Times and was sold out, with 2,800 people in attendance. She performed with the 80-piece New York Pops Orchestra conducted by Steven Reineke, receiving an unprecedented 12 standing ovations. There were seven rave reviews and she received a proclamation from NYC Mayor Eric Adams at the event declaring March 24, 2023, “Marilyn Maye Day”. Maye continues to perform throughout the United States in various clubs and concert halls. For the past 18 years, she has appeared regularly each year in New York City, in the spring and fall at 54 Below for 10 or more sold-out nights, as well as Birdland and Dizzy’s at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
