Wilkinson James w. Al Subola And Lazy Ike

Al Subola and Lazy Ike! Two of the Twin Cities’ best roots-rockers and bandleaders (The Bad Companions, Lazy Ike & the Daredevils) team up for a set of tunes drawn from (as it says on the Bad Companions’ website) “the swingin’ heyday of American rockabilly, r & b, country and blues”!     Wilkinson James has been on the Twin Cities music scene since 2008, when Liz Wilkinson and AJ Scheiber blended their singing and songwriting into a style that one fan described as “the bastard offspring of June Carter Cash and Townes Van Zandt.” Over the years the duo of Liz and AJ has evolved into a full band, adding touches of jazz, torch, and swing to their base of honky-tonk, folk, and blues.   Join these great local Americana artists for an afternoon of musical fun, friendship, and maybe a little rug-cuttin’!

Review by author; Michael Dregni. “Swinging, sensual, moody, rousing — Ryan Picone Quartet’s music follows the trail of Django Reinhardt’s Gypsy jazz. Listening to these tracks, you can almost smell the campfire smoke and see the nighttime lights of Paris burning on the horizon. Bon voyage!” www.ryanpicone.com
