With roots in the Minnesota bluegrass music community, frontman Jed LaPlant draws inspiration from the simple storytelling of traditional music, but offers a more dynamic and driving approach sonically. Wild Horses crafts the ability to draw listeners in with both captivating melodies and a hard-hitting drive in the same live experience. Their debut record, Runaway, was released in the summer of 2022 followed by a Western US tour to bring the songs back to the place from which they were inspired.KELLEY SMITH | 7:00 PMFolksinger/songwriter Kelley Smith is a hopeless romantic who fancies old poetry and grandpa sweaters. All at once whimsical and haunting, Smith delivers deeply affecting lyrics with wry charm and a time traveler's voice. Prone to melancholy and daydreaming, Kelley spent her childhood roaming the woods of Minnesota and singing to forest animals. To this day, her longing for that landscape runs deep and seems to find its way into her songs in one way or another.Raised by musicians, Smith always had music in her bones, but it wasn't until she was 40 and a mother of four that her first record, Moon Child (2022), came to be. As an insomniac, she wrote this first batch of songs by moonlight. They evoke a sense of belonging, juxtaposed with escapism, as she croons about long-term love, grief, and her draw to the night sky.Since 2022, Kelley has been honored to share stages with folks such as Charlie Parr, Kelly Hunt, Wild Horses, Dave Simonett, Alan Sparhawk, Stephen Wilson Jr., John Louis, and Drew Peterson. Most often performing solo or as a duo, Smith interprets old folk songs on guitar and banjo, in addition to her original music.EARTH RIDER FEST FIELD INFORMATIONSEATINGGeneral Admission entry and Reserved Tables with seating for up to four guests are available on the fest field. Dinner and drinks service starts 1 hour before showtimes. Midwest Country Music Legend Sherwin Linton! Midwest Country Music Legend Sherwin Linton will celebrate his 86th birthday and 68 years in entertainment with an intimate up close variety Country music show rich in his own music roots and the songs of his contemporaries. Featuring Pam Linton and The Cotton Kings. Sherwin Linton: Guitar and Vocals Pam Linton: Vocals Kenny Wilson: Steel Guitar, Flat Top Guitar, Banjo and Dobro Norton Lawellin: eyboards and Key Bass Don Nustad: Drums South Dakota native Sherwin Linton launched his career in the music business in 1956 as a 16 year-old disc jockey and live performer of country and rockabilly music on radio station KWAT in Watertown. Moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1957, this talented singer, guitarist and songwriter began performing throughout the country. Sherwin journeyed to Nashville in 1966 and recorded “Cotton King,” a song that catapulted him to the top of the Country charts. Country icon Roy Acuff was so impressed with Sherwin that he signed Sherwin to his legendary Acuff-Rose Publishing Company and Hickory Records, resulting in numerous TV appearances and nationwide tours. Following the 1971 release of a live tribute album, “Hello, I’m Not Johnny Cash,” Sherwin received multiple national nominations from the CMA and ACM (and praise from Cash himself). Subsequent hits included the 1986 novelty song “Santa Got A DWI,” an anti-drunk driving song that hit the charts and became a Christmas favorite (and has sold over 1 million copies). Sherwin continued his prolific recording career in 2011 with the release of a CD “Hillbilly Heaven” pairing him with many Grand Ole Opry and Country Music friends. Sherwin’s latest album is a 43-song double CD set of 19th and early 20th Century songs he learned from his parents. “Sunday Drives With Mom and Dad” received a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album of 2023. Sherwin has been a true music ambassador, romanticizing his home state with memories of railroad life and growing up in small South Dakota towns – themes that are woven into the fabric of more than 27 albums and over 68 years of live performances across the U.S. and Canada. “Sherwin Linton has been a great correspondent for Country Music for many years. He is the go-to guy for all things concerning authentic Country Music. In the mid-west, Sherwin is a larger than life Country singing, string bending, rhinestone wearing, boot heel dragging, fancy car driving, cowboy hat wearing state of the art Country Music star if there ever was one. Most of all he’s my pal. I always enjoy his work.” Marty Stuart “The Marty Stuart Show” RFD-TV www.SherwinLinton.com

Helping You Defy Earth’s Current Gravity Red Planet (Dean Magraw, Chris Bates, Jay Epstein) formed in 2003, plays innovative jazz sounds with a strong emphasis on creative interactivity. Now with the addition of brilliant pianist, Kavyesh Kaviraj to the band, the group elicits a perfectly strong/sensitive blend of empathetic musical spirits. The Planet is known for its unique interpretations of the music of John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, and enchanting originals. Dean Magraw: GuitarKavyesh Kaviraj: PianoChris Bates: BassJay Epstein: Drums “Red Planet sets the stage for this album with a searching rubato, dark and lovely tune by guitarist Dean Magraw’s “Ann R Chi Suite,” as it hovers into the frame, making the full, noir-ish melody glow like a neon sign through a big-city hotel window. Magraw with bassist Chris Bates and drummer Jay Epstein – is a band of Twin Cities notables that emits wide open spaces, filling those spaces subtly but colorfully, the improvisations and accompaniments brimming with blue-hued melody – an atmospheric beauty!” – 4 Stars.
