Dinner and drinks service starts 1 hour before showtimes. Midwest Country Music Legend Sherwin Linton! Midwest Country Music Legend Sherwin Linton will celebrate his 86th birthday and 68 years in entertainment with an intimate up close variety Country music show rich in his own music roots and the songs of his contemporaries. Featuring Pam Linton and The Cotton Kings. Sherwin Linton: Guitar and Vocals Pam Linton: Vocals Kenny Wilson: Steel Guitar, Flat Top Guitar, Banjo and Dobro Norton Lawellin: eyboards and Key Bass Don Nustad: Drums South Dakota native Sherwin Linton launched his career in the music business in 1956 as a 16 year-old disc jockey and live performer of country and rockabilly music on radio station KWAT in Watertown. Moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1957, this talented singer, guitarist and songwriter began performing throughout the country. Sherwin journeyed to Nashville in 1966 and recorded “Cotton King,” a song that catapulted him to the top of the Country charts. Country icon Roy Acuff was so impressed with Sherwin that he signed Sherwin to his legendary Acuff-Rose Publishing Company and Hickory Records, resulting in numerous TV appearances and nationwide tours. Following the 1971 release of a live tribute album, “Hello, I’m Not Johnny Cash,” Sherwin received multiple national nominations from the CMA and ACM (and praise from Cash himself). Subsequent hits included the 1986 novelty song “Santa Got A DWI,” an anti-drunk driving song that hit the charts and became a Christmas favorite (and has sold over 1 million copies). Sherwin continued his prolific recording career in 2011 with the release of a CD “Hillbilly Heaven” pairing him with many Grand Ole Opry and Country Music friends. Sherwin’s latest album is a 43-song double CD set of 19th and early 20th Century songs he learned from his parents. “Sunday Drives With Mom and Dad” received a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album of 2023. Sherwin has been a true music ambassador, romanticizing his home state with memories of railroad life and growing up in small South Dakota towns – themes that are woven into the fabric of more than 27 albums and over 68 years of live performances across the U.S. and Canada. “Sherwin Linton has been a great correspondent for Country Music for many years. He is the go-to guy for all things concerning authentic Country Music. In the mid-west, Sherwin is a larger than life Country singing, string bending, rhinestone wearing, boot heel dragging, fancy car driving, cowboy hat wearing state of the art Country Music star if there ever was one. Most of all he’s my pal. I always enjoy his work.” Marty Stuart “The Marty Stuart Show” RFD-TV www.SherwinLinton.com

The Planet is known for its unique interpretations of the music of John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, and enchanting originals. Dean Magraw: GuitarKavyesh Kaviraj: PianoChris Bates: BassJay Epstein: Drums “Red Planet sets the stage for this album with a searching rubato, dark and lovely tune by guitarist Dean Magraw’s “Ann R Chi Suite,” as it hovers into the frame, making the full, noir-ish melody glow like a neon sign through a big-city hotel window. Magraw with bassist Chris Bates and drummer Jay Epstein – is a band of Twin Cities notables that emits wide open spaces, filling those spaces subtly but colorfully, the improvisations and accompaniments brimming with blue-hued melody – an atmospheric beauty!” – 4 Stars. Dermot is an alternative rock artist whose diverse songs switch from heavy metal riffs to electronic pop to 60s acoustic numbers. Lyrics can range from soul-baring and relatable to rock-epics sprinkled with a dash of sci-fi flavored storytelling. The one through-line is singer Michael Rowland’s unique perspective and the singer/songwriter’s joy in sharing his voice with one and all. Allison Dyg is an alt pop/rock artist known for her fearless sound and raw, unfiltered lyrics. Blurring the lines between rock, pop, and grunge, her music dives deep into vulnerability and authenticity with a rebellious spirit that refuses to conform. Unapologetically original and captivating, Allison’s dynamic live performances leave audiences feeling every word and every note. Slytempo is a Minneapolis-based musician who creates upbeat dance music with a playful aesthetic. He’ll be joined by a few musician friends, aiming to bring fun and positivity to the stage. |

Cattlesnake: Minneapolis trio cattlesnake play a frenetic mix of surf, punk, & grunge, and try to channel their anxieties/grievances over climate disaster and democratic collapse into a rad stage show. Party on. Dashed: Dashed is comprised of 4 fellas who are finally playing the twisted surf-punk that they have always wanted to. Their style is all-at-once energetic and somber, leaning heavy into their post-punk inspirations, then sprinkling it all with biting reverb, jangly choruses, and messy topics. Somehow clean and dirty, Dashed falls between the gaps of Drive Like Jehu, Wipers, Man or Astroman?, and Lawrence Arms. These punk vets have been jamming for the past 15 years in the Midwest, and are ready for a project that feels inherently “them.” Sparrowhawk: Sparrowhawk was formed in Minneapolis in 2018 by four dudes whose previous bands include Private Interests, Mystery Date, Southside Desire, and Radio On. Their sound combines the big riffs and guitar harmonies of ‘70s van rock legends like Thin Lizzy with power-pop, glam, and first wave punk sounds from both sides of the Atlantic. |

Al Subola and Lazy Ike! Two of the Twin Cities’ best roots-rockers and bandleaders (The Bad Companions, Lazy Ike & the Daredevils) team up for a set of tunes drawn from (as it says on the Bad Companions’ website) “the swingin’ heyday of American rockabilly, r & b, country and blues”! Wilkinson James has been on the Twin Cities music scene since 2008, when Liz Wilkinson and AJ Scheiber blended their singing and songwriting into a style that one fan described as “the bastard offspring of June Carter Cash and Townes Van Zandt.” Over the years the duo of Liz and AJ has evolved into a full band, adding touches of jazz, torch, and swing to their base of honky-tonk, folk, and blues. Join these great local Americana artists for an afternoon of musical fun, friendship, and maybe a little rug-cuttin’!

![]() GALACTIC COWBOY ORCHESTRA was started in 2009 by founding member/bass player John Wright. The band was born out of a desire to play technically challenging music derived from John’s influences ranging from Mahavishnu Orchestra, The Dixie Dregs and King Crimson, to name a few. Wright enlisted the aid of guitarist Dan Neale, who brought to the table many deep Jazz influences in his advanced playing and composing style. Along with the band’s first drummer, Mark O’Day, the beginnings of Galactic Cowboy Orchestra were found. Soon after, violinist (and John’s wife) Lisi Wright joined the band with her aggressive “electric guitar player plays violin” style and engaging stage presence to complete the band’s sound and look. Fast forward 16 years: 6 studio releases (and one live), 3 Downbeat Nominations, a Minnesota Arts Tour Grant, collaborations with symphony orchestras, thousands of miles of touring and the band is just getting started. |

Currently, she is on faculty at both Carleton College and St. Olaf College, both located in Northfield, MN https://www.lauracaviani.com/biography.php About Joan Griffith: Joan Griffith never met a string instrument she didn’t like. Growing up in Bellevue, Nebraska, she fell in love with the guitar while listening to Stan Getz and João Gilberto on their breakout Brazilian album. She immediately got her mother to purchase the record and, at age 14, proceeded to figure out how to play all the songs! “This is what I thought the guitar should sound like” she remembers. Joan went to the Conservatory at the University of Kansas City because it was one of the few schools that offered a guitar major. While she was there, she met another string instrument, the acoustic bass, and a whole new world of music opened to her. From there, the electric bass was soon introduced and she and friends from the Conservatory formed a disco/rock cover band called Airhart. She has also played frequently with the Minnesota Orchestra. It was at the Children’s Theater that a mandolin part was included as a double with the guitar book. Never having played one before, she looked it over for a minute or two and promptly ripped off a few scales. The mandolin surrendered. She has since added the violin to her string resume. Joan has also followed her composer voice’s calling. This is where her first love, the music of Brazil, is her biggest influence. As one can hear on her recordings, the choros, the bossas, the baiãos and the sambas live deeply in her soul. A visiting friend, a Brazilian guitarist, said “Joan plays Brazilian music without an accent.” Passing on her love of music, Joan has taught at the University of St. Thomas and St. Catherine’s University among other schools. She is currently ensconced at Macalester College. She is a roster artist with COMPAS and the Minnesota State Arts Board. https://www.joangriffith.com/about About Sheila Earley: A drummer and percussionist, born in New Richmond, WI and began playing drums at the age of 8.
