Passionate, Rhythmic Flamenco The Twin Cities Flamenco Collective is a dynamic group of Flamenco artists dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich art of flamenco in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. Through performances, education, and community outreach, the collective brings the passion, rhythm, and soul of flamenco to diverse audiences and participants. Comprising skilled dancers and musicians, the members and their guests collaborate to create vibrant and authentic flamenco experiences. Their mission is to foster appreciation for this art and culture from Andalusia, Spain while building a supportive local community for flamenco artists and aficionados alike. La Conja: Guest Singer from New York Molly Kay Stoltz: Guest Local Dancer Ross “El Vecino”: Flamenco Guitarist Eva Makiko: Flamenco Dancer La Gracia: Flamenco Dancer La Conja, based in NYC, is one of Flamenco World’s most versatile artists. She has developed a substantial international reputation as a dancer, singer, and choreographer. She has performed at the prestigious Guggenheim Work and Process Series, in collaboration with New Yorks World Music Institute. She has toured nationally and internationally with such artists as Jose Molina and Jose Greco featured as solo dancer, and has also appeared at Lincoln Center with Sarita Montiel. Her recent performances include Savion Glover at the Joyce Theatre, JVC Jazz Festival with composer Maria Schneider, and Rhythm, Ragas and Roots, with composer Osvaldo Golijov at Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Given her multicultural background (an American born of Egyptian parents with a Turkish surname) it is no wonder La Conja has naturally melded Arab, Spanish and Indian musical influences into her work. Charles Jurrist of the New York Daily News described her as a mesmerizing singer and demon dancer, and indeed, her dancing illustrates a show of force characteristic of the Art of Flamenco. La Conja has currently been teaching Flamenco dance at Ballet Hispañico School of Dance. One of the most renowned dance schools in New York City & the United States. Dance artist Molly Kay Stoltz brings rhythmic and percussive dance to south-central Minnesota as a performer, choreographer, teacher, and arts administrator. She performs with acclaimed companies, including Joe Chvala’s Flying Foot Forum, Zorongo Flamenco, and April Sellers Dance Collective in the Twin Cities. She shares her expertise teaching tap at Ballare Teatro Performing Arts Center and flamenco at Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre. From her new creative hub, B3 Studio and Gallery in St. Peter, MN, she continues teaching through community education programs while developing her newest venture, GreenHouse Percussive Dance. “What I love about the TC Flamenco Collective is the energetic vibes in the room. They welcome a diverse range of performers from the local and international community together.” –Joe Bowman tcflamenco.org
