CROONERS JAZZ: BluLuna – Swing Into Summer!
Dinner and drinks service starts 1 hour before showtimes. Euphoric Swing Jazz BluLuna was formed by four veteran musicians out of their love for myriad genres of the jazz idiom without restraining themselves to one specific branch of the music. By focusing on familiar melodic compositions, this bias-free approach has allowed them to concentrate on playing very fresh and sparkling ideas honoring the wide range of America’s 1st original sonic art. The result is a startlingly warm delivery of a strong yet hyper-sensitive mélange of enchanting moments. Dean Magraw: GuitarRick Carlson: PianoSteve Pikal: BassJay Epstein: Drums Dean Magraw studied at the University of Minnesota and Berklee College of Music in Boston. He spent five years in Beantown, playing professionally and teaching. After returning to his hometown St. Paul, he’s had a life of music – playing, composing, arranging, producing, & recording. Magraw’s music is impossible to pigeonhole. For 15 years, he was half of a duo with mandolinist Peter Ostroushko. He has collaborated with Masahiro Nitta, who plays the traditional Japanese shamisen; with Nigel Kennedy, Britain’s bad boy of the classical violin; with Nirmala Rajasekar, South Indian vocalist and player of the vina; with the singers Bruce Henry, Ruth MacKenzie, and Claudia Schmidt; with the Irish supergroup Altan. As a jazz cat, he leads his own trio, performs with Chris Bates & Jay Epstein as Red Planet since 2002, and more recently has formed BluLuna. “With four of our favorite musicians comprising BluLuna, we were prepared for a great night of improv. They even exceeded our expectations, as was evidenced by the great audience response!” – Mike Wolsted DeanMagraw.com

After 20 years on the road together, the Looney Lutherans are saddling up with a “Country and Cowboy” themed show. Segments include Lutheran Cowboy-ish Wisdom and hilarious parodies of classic country songs like “I’m Falling to Pieces.” With loads of laughs and lots of great harmonies, the Looney Lutherans invite you to join them for this hilarious round-up – and you don’t have to be Lutheran (or a Cowboy) to love ‘em. Yee haw! Greta Grosch as Lois Jenson Dorian Chalmers as Ginger Johnson Robbie Mancina as Bella Anderson The Looney Lutherans are all professional actors, singers and improvisors, and the idea for the “Loonies” was cooked up in 2006 when the founding members were appearing in the cast of the hit musical CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES. The Looney Lutherans have since appeared together around the country at Fairs and Festivals, Mother/Daughter Banquets, Community Events, Red Hat Gatherings, Hospital Fundraisers, Customer Appreciation Dinners and at Women’s and Senior Expos, and they are delighted to be returning to Crooner’s! “We had such a wonderful afternoon with you gals! Everyone was still buzzing about it the next day. It was so wonderful to see our seats filled and to hear the laughter in the air. I can see now why everyone says if you get a chance to see you gals perform to go, its worth it!” – Sara / Looney Lutheran Client thelooneylutherans.com

Chief Opossum’s debut album Headlong Into Collapse is a crossroads of country, hard rock, and shoegaze. With raw lyrics and a sound that sways between gritty power and dreamy introspection, the album explores themes of tension, decay, isolation, and redemption. Building on the genre-agnostic foundation of 2024’s Northerner EP, Headlong Into Collapse paints a sonic landscape that is both familiar and foreign. Plumstar is an unadulterated contemporary group.
